Background and Identification
Developed by Chinese electronics manufacturer, Xiaomi Inc., the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is a smartphone and a part of Xiaomi’s budget friendly Redmi Note line. Released in February of 2018, the Note 5 is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor.
The phone’s design is similar to its predecessor, the Redmi Note 4, especially when seen from the rear side. However, the Note 5 has a slimmer and lighter profile when compared to the Note 4. The back casing of the phone has an aluminum build while the top and bottom ends are plastic. At 180 grams, the phone is 8.1 mm thin and its weight gives the phone a sturdy feel. Also, users can find the fingerprint sensor on the rear panel. The front side of the Note 5 is the most different—with a minimal bezel display and no capacitive navigation buttons.
