Background and Identification
The iHome iBT230 was released in May of 2015. The model number of this device is IBT230BBC, and the IC number of this device is 986B-IBT230. Furthermore, this model of iHome is identified by the name iBT230 in the bottom right hand corner on the base of the device. This distinguishes it from other similar models. The different components include the iBT230 unit, a 100V-24OV univeral AC adapter, and a stereo audio cable. It is also distinguishable from other models with its oval shape and rectangular front, as well as its slimmer design and original release in black or silver. It is a dual alarm clock radio that is primarily used to play high quality music over Bluetooth wireless connection or via the universal 3.5 mm stereo connection. This version of the iHome has an FM radio with 6 station presets for a variety of different music and easy access.
This iHome features a built-in mic, voice echo cancellation, and answer and end control capabilities. The dual alarm and time-display allows for a simplistic user experience compared to other similar models. There is also a one-amp USB port on the back to keep your mobile devices charged while in use. The iBT230 has dimensions of 5.56" W x 3.11" H x 4.77" D, and weighs about 1.01 lbs. It also has a frequency range of FM 87.5 - 107.9 MHz. Some drawbacks of this model is there is no daylight savings mode, and some customers have complained about the excessive brightness of the screen even while using the dimmest option. It also sometimes fails to automatically pair with a phone when you're in range. That means if the radio is on and a phone's Bluetooth is on, it won't allow you to take a call on a handset.
The iBT230 was replaced by the iBT371 with added water resistant capabilities in March of 2017.
