My name is Adanna Ilori, I am a third year double major in Managerial Economics and Design. Majoring in Managerial Economics will help me build a foundation for my future and launch a career that involves designing and manufacturing clothing. I plan to complete core upper-division business courses, all while designing clothing, which will provide me a broader knowledge of business operations as well as understanding economic fluctuations that can affect businesses. From this knowledge, I will first open an online store, build a positive reputation and then expand to a storefront.

My grandma would instill in my mind to strive on being the best and to not settle or become complacent. She would say there is always room for growth no matter what stage in life you are at. These words of wisdom and encouragement will continue to keep me focused on my dreams and aspirations as I start my upper-division business courses. Learning from my grandma's wisdom, I will always be the best I can be and with determination and dedication, I will succeed in anything I put my mind to. Completing my major in Managerial Economics will help me design studies and analyze data pertaining to the fashion industry. A Master’s degree in Business Administration will further my versatility and mobility into becoming the CEO of my own West African fashion company.

Knowing where I come from has made me appreciate life and make the best out of it. I want to put smiles on people’s faces like my village did for me. My mother, grandma and aunts have influenced my goals and aspirations in life. Learning from their experiences, I will always strive to do my best, and hope to succeed in everything I do.
