Hello, I am Scott Nadeau and I’m a second year student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. I am currently studying the propulsion engineering track of the Bachelors Degree in Aerospace Engineering.
Throughout my life I have always had a fascination with anything that was able to fly and I have always had a strong knowledge of computer systems and networks. The idea of computers combined with aircraft led me to work towards a degree in unmanned aircraft systems but after completing an Associates Degree in Physical, Computer and Geographical sciences I decided to try to follow an engineering path instead.
As a student in high school I was placed in charge of one of three teams of five students that were given 50 computer along with switches, bridges, routers and other various networking equipment and were told to have a functioning network within a week. Within a week all devices had new operating systems installed, all networking protocols were active and functional, and similar to how a school or business’s intranet would work, each computer was setup as part of a unified network with partitioned drives where each user had their own storage space, a unique username and password and was placed into a hierarchy of privileges based upon the needs of the profile.
While attending classes at Spokane Fall Community College for an Associates degree in science I worked as a tutor for multiple subjects. Primarily I was a geographical sciences tutor but I also worked with many students in writing, computer programming and applications, and the pre-calculus and calculus math series as well as ESL (English as a Second Language) students. For one quarter the geography professor was going to be traveling for a full month through parts of the world with little or no technological connections. During the time of his absence I was the person who the students would see on the daily basis and who was the only person available at SFCC that could provide any assistance.
Whenever it is possible I love to travel. I have been fortunate enough to be able to travel through over 40 of the 50 states of the US as well as the southern territories of Canada and ten counties in central Europe.
This was a glacier I had the chance to visit in Alaska where just across the road behind me there was a beautiful green meadow with a few small ponds. For a month I traveled through Alaska with my family trying to see as much as we could and catch as many fish as possible.
Recently I was able to travel through Europe with two friends and this was our favorite place out of our one month trip. Its a small town names Bled in Slovenia right next to the Italian border.
If I’m not busy with school, work or traveling with friends I usually can be found in a pool, on a golf course of beside a lake with a fishing pole in hand. There is nothing better than a nice cool morning on a golf course or a lake with birds chirping where you can just watch the sun rise and relax.
