My name is Jared Boisclair and I am a Junior Bioengineering Student at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

My love for Bioengineering stems from a desire to combine my wish to help others in a medical field, while also challenging my brain and creating new concepts and products in an engineering field. I have found that I love Biochemistry and Molecular Bioengineering, which are like viewing cells and the body as machines which can produce and be affected by microscopic products.

As an Eagle Scout I have spent most of my teenage years in the outdoors, camping and fishing. I love spending a day on a lake either by myself or with a small group of friends talking for hours while we fish. I own a kayak and have made quite a few modifications to it to make it more suitable for fishing. I also spend a couple hours a day playing chess. It has become a minor obsession of mine to see my rating rise and challenge myself against better and better opponents. I consider myself a capable leader and am a manager at both my jobs.

I have won my fantasy football league two years in a row and am in first place for this year. It’s an easy way to win $200 from your friends and get them to congratulate you for doing it!
