Hi! I’m Jordan and I attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. I’m studying Aerospace Engineering and someday I want to work in the space or defense industry.
I like to hike and explore the outdoors. In my profile photo, this is me in the middle of a backpacking trip through the Grand Canyon. It was extremely beautiful and the scale was absolutely mind-boggling!
I took a class in Computer Aided Design that focused on Conceptual Aerospace Systems. On a team of 3 others, we picked this English Electric Canberra Mk. 8 to fully model in CATIA V5. Using this software, we rendered a full outer mold, then sectioned the aircraft into 1/8” inch pieces. We cut holes into these parts so that they would fit together, then assembled these pieces onto a single sheet of paper. This was then sent to the DBF Laser Cutter workshop. They gave us our aircraft in little sectioned cuts of wood and then using some wood glue, we combined all the parts into this aircraft pictured above. It was very fun and I hope to do something like that again!
