Hi, my name is Dustin Healy and I am a freshman at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo currently studying Industrial Engineering.
I am originally from San Mateo, California, where I attended Junipero Serra High School, an all boys Catholic school.
In high school, I challenged myself academically with a rigorous course schedule, taking six AP’s before graduating. Extracurricularly, I ran cross country, wrestled, sprinted, and pole vaulted for the school throughout my time there, as well as working with our social justice programs to organize fundraisers and “pack-outs” for the food insecure in our county in collaboration with the Generation Alive Foundation and later moving into leadership roles in our student government as the Campus Ministry officer, leading retreats, freshman orientation events, and monthly seminars on domestic violence and abuse for lowerclassmen.
Nowadays you can find me either in my dorm studying for classes with my roommates, in the machine shop working on personal projects that I send home to my family, or on one of the numerous mountains which encircle my school taking photographs and playing my guitar during sunsets.
Listed below are a few of the skills with which I’d call myself proficient that I’ve picked up over the years.
SolidWorks
Manual Machining
Precision Metrology
Java
