John Lacadin

I am a second-year York University student majoring in Information Technology (BA).

I chose Information Technology as my major because I enjoyed coding in Java and am still eager to learn other programming languages. I also enjoyed learning binary as it is like a puzzle, deciphering ciphers and learning how a computer works. I also believe that pursuing Information Technology will benefit me in many ways in the long run. IT’s are very important in companies and businesses these days. Heck! I can even aim to work for Google.

My skills specialize in observation, arithmetic and logical thinking skills. There are more skills that I am good at but these three are skills I exceed in.

A small project I am proud of is a code I wrote that helps me make decisions since I am an indecisive person. It is not as complex as it sounds. The code can flip a coin, or choose a random number or letter within a given range or its default range.

Another build that I am proud of is creating a tensegrity table out of string and a few popsicles.

I am a hands-on learner and enjoy building items. I have repaired many objects, some with the help from my companions. My most recent repairs were changing RAM sticks on a laptop, changing breaks in cars, and fixing the hinges of drawers and pantries.

I have received an honour roll in my elementary and two in high school. I am also a robotics alumni.

I am currently not in any clubs or organization but I am interested in joining TechDoc, a tech-specialist club great for ITEC students. I am also trying to get an internship to help me with work experience but I require more information about that.

In my spare time, I work out or do any work that is necessary. I also play videogames in my spare time but I have cut down on extensive gaming.

My experience with this project will allow me to gain more experience in customer service, or when creating my own help forum for businesses I work for in the future. This will also help me to give out my information thoroughly and concisely in the future
