I am a senior in high school attending Eastern Washington University through Running Start. I am planning to go into the science field, but I haven’t decided whether to major in biochemistry or biotechnology yet; either way, I want to find a cure for CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome), along with more common illnesses such as cancer.
Some of my accomplishments include winning two gold medals for achievement in classical and baroque piano repertoire, along with three gold medals for excellence in year-long piano study.
To the right is a photo of me at a regional music competition with my piano teacher.
When I was a sophomore, I won Student of the Year in my Algebra II/Trigonometry class. Although I can’t say I’ve done many repair jobs that are particularly deserving of recognition, I’ve always enjoyed disassembling objects, learning how they work, and putting them back together, so I can’t wait to dive into the Fast Fix Project! I hope to learn technical skills such as writing instructional manuscripts and refining presentational design, but I also hope to contribute to iFixit’s mission of preserving the environment, establishing jobs, and promoting personal freedom.
Here are a few fun facts about myself: I’m an avid skier, snowboarder, reader, writer, singer, and all-around “music” person.
Seen here is a picture of me skiing on a nearby mountain.
I’ve been playing piano for six years, and I love watching movies in my free time, or while taking a jog on the treadmill. Some of my favorite films and TV shows include Les Misérables, Avatar, Get Out, Schitt’s Creek, and The Good Place. I’m also a member of my church’s youth group, where I take part in weekly meetings for discussion and games, but I haven’t been able to participate this year because of the pandemic.
