INTRODUCTION
Hello! My name is Genna Pechman and I am a 21 year old student at Grand Valley State University. I am working towards a double major in Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience. In future years, I would like to continue my schooling further by attaining a masters degree in clinical psychology.
My passion for the brain and its functioning arose during my junior year of high school when i took an advanced psychology course. I couldn’t get enough of it, and I found myself always wanting to know more! By the time i graduated high school in 2017, I knew psychology would be a part of my future. Once I began taking courses in college, I signed up for an intro to Neuroscience course, and I could not believe how much I enjoyed it. The two majors really build off one another, and I couldn’t be more excited to pursue these degrees and see where they land me later in life!
ABOUT ME
I have spent majority of my life working with children of all ages. I began nannying when i was 11 years old! from there my nannying career continuously propelled, and became my main source of income. In high school, i was nominated President of our Peer-to-Peer organization, which works with children with disabilities. My role as President included planning and running meetings with my team members, speaking at and hosting events such as fun runs and ice cream socials, and most importantly creating a bond with the children who were a part of the organization and mentoring them along the way.
I feel that my many years of experience with children has allowed me to acquire many of the skills i am proud of today. I have learned patience with communication, the importance of interpersonal relationships, how to handle unexpected situations, and how to manage and lead a team. The children in my life have looked up to me as a mentor and through this i have gain knowledge on how to be a strong role model and support system for those who need it most.

HOBBIES'''
My number one “hobby” is my kitten Portia. I found her as a baby stuck in a brick wall and have kept her close to my heart ever since!
I also enjoy running in my free time, as I find it extremely therapeutic.
Another hobby of mine is creating what I like to call “mood boards” for others. Upon request, I ask for two main colors, and an overall aesthetic the individual is wanting. I put together a collage of images that can then be printed and framed and hung wherever desired as décor.
