Hi, I’m William Knoblauch. I am studying at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona. I am a mechanical engineer focusing on propulsion systems such as rocket motors and engines as well as jet engines. I chose mechanical engineering because it has the broadest set of applications and job opportunities. I aspire to be an engineer in the rocket design field working for a new up-and-coming company such as Relativity Space.

I have experience working with MatLab and other programming languages and software. I am proficient in many different CAD modeling software such as AutoCAD and Solidworks. I have worked on several rocket projects.

In high school, I worked on a trans-sonic hybrid rocket that exceeded Mach 1. I was the main designer on the airframe team working with every other subsection of the vehicle. The second project I worked on was a hybrid rocket designed to reach 100,000 ft. Here is a photo of me and the team at the White Sands missile range in New Mexico.

I was the lead designer on the injection system of the propulsion system. On this project, I also was the main machinist working on lathes and mills to machine all the parts for the vehicle.

Right now I am in a group that is launching a 2 stage vehicle to space (100 km). Here is a photo of the full team and the vehicle standing upright:

This project will help me in writing professional emails to communicate with companies and group members. I will also gain a better understanding of how to structure and improve guide steps including grammar, pictures, and bullets.
