Hello!

My name is Yadimar Mendoza Vega. I am currently in my fourth year of my bachelors degree in the English department in the literature track with a Writing and Communications minor at the University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez.

For my professional goals I plan on graduating next year, applying to law school and hopefully getting in. Since I was a little kid I have always wanted to be a lawyer and to fight for the rights of someone. This is still my dream and I see myself in a few years as a criminal defense attorney.

For my personal goals I wish to travel the world, to be a kind person and the best version of myself and just live a happy and peaceful life. In my free time I like to read, exercise and go to the beach with my favorite being in the world, my dog, Monroe.

For my interests, I work tutoring younger kids from ages 6 to 13. I started at 18 years old as a freshman and have continued doing so. It’s something I’d never expected myself to be doing since I never thought of myself as a teacher. Seeing these kids grow up and how little by little they start gaining more personality, maturity and confidence is a really gratifying feeling because I helped them in their progress. Throughout the years I’ve helped all of them not only with studying for an exam but also with arts, crafts and even science fairs. For most of these projects we basically did them with what we had in the moment and improvised instead of buying. They weren’t actual repairs but one can say it is in some ways similar.

I’m really excited for this project because since I could remember my dad always fixed everything it was almost impossible to find something he couldn’t repair. I really grew up with the mindset of fixing first and if it doesn’t work then buy it. I’m not an expert on repairing things but I have learn a few tricks and tips from my dad that I feel are really going to help me with the project. Going through this experience is totally different but at the same time fun while at the same time learning more about technical writing,

Now that you got to know a little bit of me, here is a picture of Monroe to brighten your day! Don’t let that serious look fool you because she’s a cutie pie.
