Hello there! My name is Shahin Montazeri. I am currently a Senior at the University of Colorado Denver completing my undergraduate degree in Biology on a pre-med track.
My interest in medicine sparked when I was very young. Most of my relatives are in the medical field and all enjoy helping people and making an impact on the world. Their tutelage and commitment to their craft has inspired me all my life. The fulfillment of helping people overcome sickness and injury has fueled my passion for medicine. After completing my undergraduate degree, my goal is to attend medical school right here in Colorado with the goal of becoming a surgeon. Being invested in the sciences, my scope of critical issues has broadened. Science has taught me to open my eyes not only on the issues we are having here in the United States, but also globally. Having family members across the globe where access to medicine and treatments can be much different has made me become aware of the social aspect of medicine.
In middle school, for two years I was apart of The Technology Student Association (TSA). In those 2 years, I helped contribute in the construction and operations of an underwater ROV, an innovative engineered robotic trash can, structural engineering of a bridge as well as many other projects. From TSA, I gained leadership skills and communication skills by doing presentations in front of judges. More importantly it's shown me what it means to be apart of team where a common goal is shared.
From this IFxit project, I am excited to contribute to the repair guides that will a display an effective way for people to get the assistance they need in a manor that meets the standards of IFixit. My goal is to develop stronger communication skills that will assist me in my future career, as well as my personal life as well.
In my free time, I love fly fishing and visiting different rivers, fly tying, hunting, photography, traveling, cooking for family and friends, watching sports and whether it's repairing our outdoor deck or building a rocking chair for mothers day, I also love building things.
