Hi! My name is Nathan Luu, and I'm a student at California State University, Los Angeles studying computer science.
I don't have much experience with repairing things, but I find the idea of making my devices last longer really appealing. I installed a custom ROM on an OnePlus One which I got in 2014, and I still use that phone today. I look forward to learning more about keeping old devices usable through the iFixit Technical Writing Project!
I also hope to improve my technical writing skills through this project. There's a lot of technical documents I've used that I thought were very useful and easy to understand, and there were also some that were confusing or just plain wrong. Currently, my writing tends to look more like the latter than the former. But I think that this project will provide many opportunities to learn and practice skills to become a better writer, so I hope that by the end of this project, me and my group will have made accessible and helpful guides that match the quality expected on iFixit.

Projects:
- An incremental game about making ice cream for a class' final project written in Python using Tkinter. Tcl/Tk was entirely new to me, so I had to learn the essentials of Tk. This was also my first major object-oriented project, so it was a great opportunity to gain experience in object-oriented programming.
- A website to perform an LU factorization without pivoting of a matrix. I learned HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to make it. I used Nerdamer, a symbolic math expression evaluator, in order to write the calculator part and used MathJax to display the math.
Hobbies:
- Playing video games or watching others play
