Hello, My name is Grant Maffei and I am currently a sophomore student at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a major in civil engineering. I am also a member of the Honors College at the university.
My interest in engineering came from a combination of my watching my Dad work and building Legos as I grew up. Growing up I accompanied my Dad on some his jobs, with them being a combination of stone masonry, machine operating, repairing cars and machines, and residential construction. Its one of my goals to be like him, in the sense of constantly learning new skills and improving my old ones, while gaining a large tool box of knowledge and skills that I can draw from. While my interest in Civil engineering specifically came from my time at Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical Highschool, while I was in the drafting program.
My repair experience comes from working with my Dad as he repaired cars, trucks and machines and troubleshooting problems with him. With some minor experience in computer repairs, and house repairs. Through the ifixit I am live looking forward to learn a variety of devices, while also being able to give back something to the community
