My name is Jake Kaulbfliesch. I am a senior mechanical engineering candidate at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. I transferred into UMD my junior year after spending my first two years at Massasoit Community College, where I received my Associates degree in science.
During my time at UMD, I have leaned into more manufacturing and design side of mechanical engineering. This has helped me to better understand how to design and manufacture different items. This is especially helpful for when I help my stepfather in his workshop. One item I was able to help him create was an eleven foot, flat bottom row boat.
If I am not studying or tinkering at the workshop, I am playing rugby for UMD. I have been lucky enough to have been voted captain for my senior season. Rugby is a passion of mine that I found in high school. The sport has helped me become a better leader, and also has improved how I manage my time.
