Who are you?
I am a writer, photographer, blogger, yogini, and left-handed tea drinker from Honolulu, HI. I eventually made my way to New Orleans for school and worked in post-Katrina recovery. But now I'm in San Luis Obispo completing my Masters and teaching creative writing in the county's juvenile hall. Whew.
What do you do?
I'm an advocacy writer and outreach representative for iFixit and Dozuki. In addition to overseeing relationships among our partners, I've written articles for GOOD Magazine and iFixit.org. I'm best recognized for my continuing article series, the “Female Fixoholic.”
What else do you do?
It's important for me to immerse myself in art and the outdoors. On top of doing my primary mediums— writing, photography, and the like—you'll usually see me at the yoga studio throughout week. Or at the very least, hiking with friends in Big Sur. I'm a big believer in physical and mental self-maintenance.
Topics of Conversation
Want to get to know me, but are to scared by my intimidating presence? Here are points of my usual conversations—Buffy the Vampire Slayer, stand up paddle-boarding, backpacking, Dwight K. Schrute, folk music, LOTR, the survival of koala bears, udon bowls, Taylor Swift, my Asian heritage, literary theory, The Saints, insomnia, or my little kitten Mr. Oliver. All of these will work.
