Einleitung

This guide will help you replace the belt of your Central Machinery 8” Keyless Drill Press 44505 and is intended to help the drill press last longer. This repair is important as if the repair isn't taken care of immediately the drill press could be more damaged than the belt. This belt controls the mechanism to where the drill is able to function properly.

There are no skills needed for this repair. The only recommendations are having a steady hand as you might damage the pulleys or belt.

Schritt 1

Unplug the machine.
Make sure the machine is turned off before unplugging the machine.

Schritt 2

Open the pulley lid.

Schritt 3

Use a flathead screwdriver to lift the belt in an upward motion to disconnect the old belt.

Schritt 4

Take off the motor adjusting knob from your drill press.

Schritt 5

After unscrewing the knob, adjust the motor to the right distance from the pulley spindle.

Schritt 6

Remove the 36" shoelace and the new replacement belt.
Wrap half of the belt around the pulley spindle.
Wrap the shoelace onto the other half of the new belt.

Schritt 7

Start to pull the shoelace towards the pulley motor.
Make sure to have the motor in place during this step.

Schritt 8

Tighten the motor adjusting knob back into place.

Schritt 9

After setting the belt into place, you can set it up from the top to bottom of both the pulleys.
The belt must be leveled in order for the drill press to work properly.
