Der JBL Charge 3 hat zwei Frontlautsprecher, die einzeln oder zusammen ausgetauscht werden können. Diese Anleitung zeigt dir, wie das geht

    • Lege dein Gerät mit der Unterseite nach oben und setze ein Plastiköffnungswerkzeug vertikal in den Schlitz in der Frontabdeckung ein.

    • Ziehe das Werkzeug langsam nach außen und löse die Rasten, mit denen die Abdeckung befestigt ist.

    • Wiederhole dieses Verfahren an allen vier Kanten der Frontabdeckung.

    Sometimes disassemblers forget that the first time they disassembled the item it didn’t want to give up easily: I didn’t like the forces I was having to apply at all, so I switched to two plastic prying tools per “corner” and one in-between them (total 5, you could use plectrums…) before I was happy the the forces were low enough not to break anything.

    There appears to be different versions of the Charge 3. If you find it difficult to pry open a second side the two small screws mentioned by Jason will need to be removed but it also indicates that there will be some additional changes to this tear down that I will try to convey in the comments as well.

    Sadly I damaged the latches on my charge 3. There was more to it than just prying the front cover up. First, there is a small latch on both sides that you need to push down before pulling the front cover towards you that release the clips holding the front cover in place. Pull only slightly forward because… Second, in the front cover there are 6 circular notches connected to the front cover in tue four corners including the middle corners, you need to squeeze the front cover a little bit gently removing the notches so they dont break (like mine did).

    Definitely had to watch about 10 videos and still couldn’t get it to pop out easily.. Took a look at the first picture in the next step and really took note of where the little hole that lets you through to push down the tab is. Once I took a look at that and combined the techniques I’d seen in some of the videos it finally popped off easily. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7i0_nD9...     How do you know if the speakers or one of them is burned or broken.. i notice that one speaker is playing much less hard then the other one.. I wonder now if maybe there is another problem with my device.. Battery problem?

    latches where screwed on, and needed to be pryed to on theother side.

    • Ziehe die Abdeckung auf beiden Seiten vorsichtig auseinander und entferne sie vom Gehäuse.

    • Es gibt einige Schrauben rund um die Füße des Gerätes. Eventuell müssen diese aufgedreht werden, um die andere Seite der Abdeckung zu lösen.

    • Im Inneren der Frontabdeckung befinden sich Löcher, die beim Zusammenbau in die entsprechenden Stifte des Lautsprechergehäuses passen müssen

    • Das Entfernen der Frontabdeckung beeinflusst nicht die Abdichtung gegen Feuchtigkeit. Allerdings werden beim weiteren Zerlegen des Lautsprechers wasserdichte Verklebungen und Dichtungen beschädigt. Dein Gerät wird danach wahrscheinlich nicht mehr länger wasserfest sein.

    @KanGoon Yes, on mine it took the removal of 6 (reasonably obvious) screws to remove that. I’ll try to insert a photo when I reassemble…

    • Entferne die acht 10 mm Kreuzschlitzschrauben #1, mit denen die beiden Lautsprecher befestigt sind.

    Die Frage : Ist ob man irgendwo Ersatz Lautsprecher bekommt ???

    • Ziehe sorgfältig einen der beiden Lautsprecher heraus. Sei vorsichtig, er ist immer noch an der Hauptplatine angeschlossen.

    • Im Flachstecker des Lautsprechers ist eine kleine Metallverriegelung. Drücke sie mit einem Schraubendreher hinein und ziehe den Stecker vorsichtig ab.

    • Fasse den Stecker am Kabelbündel, welches die Lautsprecher mit der Hauptplatine verbindet, mit einer Pinzette an. Ziehe den Stecker vorsichtig ab.

    • Nachdem der zweite Lautsprecher von der Hauptplatine abgetrennt ist, kannst du ihn und seine Anschlüsse herausziehen.

Mine did not have the little clips in step 5. It was just soldered on. I ended up removing it from the other end. At the little white clip that goes in the motherboard (shown in step &) I was able to remove the pin. by pressing down on the top where you can see the silver.

I see them on ebay, there are two designs. Btw, my speakers don't have clips, they are soldered on.

i just completed this repair using generic replacement speakers from ali express item number 32829635211

mine were soldered on. i had to trim 4 orientation posts that prevent the factory speakers being installed rotated incorrectly, as these wouldn’t work with the new speakers. they sound OK, but have noticeably less bass than the OEM JBL drivers and can sound a little more tinny. there are also people doing it on ebay for 30$, but i am not in the USA so that was not convenient.

Contact JBL customer service if y3have or gen get the teveipt call them and then email pic8or the receipt ant the JBL Serial number by the speakers when the blabk jbl grill is off if less than 12 months old youll get a free speaker replacement if out warranty or you have no receipt the replacement speaker for Charge3 is only $32.19 USD. Good luck.

Contact JBL customer service if you have a charge 3. get the customer service number, call them and or then just email description fate SN# and pic of the receipt and the JBL Serial number between the speakers when the black JBL grill is off, but only if its less than 12 months old then you’ll get a free speaker replacement if out warranty or you have no receipt the replacement speaker for it is cheap only the JBL Charge3 is only $32.19 USD. Good luck.

If you can find a cheap replacement battery for $20 grab it cause its totally worth it if out in the wilderness it also acts as a cellphone charger.

Fyi upset neighbors since my left charge 3 is blown i decided it daisy chain 3 50 wayt pyle horn tweeters omg lets just day its about 500p% louder. Lol. Happy 4th of

Absolutely ridiculous how much replacement speakers are! I found some that “work” but they sound like crap…… Considering I have 4 Charge3’s and 1 Charge4, Harmon already has PLENTY of my $$!

Simple install. Youll need a soldering iron, some solder and a smallish phillips. Works fine now for about 10 bucks from ali.

Original speaker parts can be obtained in the UK by contacting Multicare Electronics ( +441132791255 , info@multicare.org.uk ). I initially called the Harman support line (Harman is the umbrella company of JBL), who redirected me to Multicare who are their official repair/parts company in the UK. Multicare sent me a replacement speaker unit for about £20 (ex shipping), which I have now fitted and is working perfectly. Good experience and thanks for this iFixit guide!

I got my Charge 3 used, and apparently abused. Right speaker has pin holes in the cone; left speaker missing...

My question is why would anyone ground the + input to the speakers? Both are connected to the speaker inputs and also grounded to the speaker frame...

Quick tip on the Charge 3 is it comes in two different versions, TL model which does have those clips on the transducers while the GG model has directly soldered connectors. Here is a comparison.\/

TL: Spade style speaker connection.

Difference:Mic design, passive mount type, enclosure, etc., One is made in China while the other in Vietnam.

GG: Directly soldered speaker connection.

Hopefully this helped someone out there ;) ps. The unit shown is a TL model, I would know because I own a black charge 3 TL.
