Background and Identification
The Acura TSX is a compact executive car produced by Honda and sold through its Acura division between 2003 and 2014. The TSX was produced across two generations which were both derived from the corresponding Japanese/European versions of the Honda Accord. The Honda Accord versions were more compact and sporting-oriented than the North American TSX.
The first-generation Acura TSX was introduced in April 2003 as a 2004 model that was a rebadged version of the Japanese domestic market Honda Accord 2.4 Type-S. The first-generation TSX’s interior was borrowed from the fourth-generation Honda Inspire. The second-generation Acura TSX was released in March 2008 as a 2009 model based on the eighth-generation JDM Honda Accord. The final generation of the TSX introduced a V6 option for 2010 and a wagon version for 2011.
The Acura TSX was sold as Acura’s four-door, entry-level sedan when the Integra sedan was discontinued in 2011. It became Acura’s entry-level vehicle when the Acura RSX was discontinued in 2007. The TSX was discontinued in 2014 with the introduction of the TLX.
Acura vehicles can be identified by the name “Acura” in capital letters on the rear of the car and the Acura emblem, which includes a stylized letter “A” inside of a circle. The name “TSX” is included in capital letters on the right-hand side of TSX model cars’ rear ends.
