Background and Identification
French electronics maker, Archos, has developed a variety of consumer electronics throughout its history. Initially finding success in the MP3 media player market, the company has transitioned into the smartphone, tablets, and home personal assistants, similar to Amazon Echo. According to GSMArena, the first smartphone the company released was the Archos 40 Titanium in 2013. Since then the company has manufactured 41 different smartphones, the latest being the Oxygen 68XL. Currently, Archos is not available in the US market, but is available in most international countries such as the UK, China, and Chile.
A common issue that users have reported is rapid battery drainage when running lightweight apps or minimal usage. Users have had to either check for software update, perform a factory reset, wipe the cache partition, or replace the old battery with a new one.
The Android OS will typically have manufacturer, model, and IMEI information in the Setting app. This will give the user full information about the phone they are using. Typically, Archos phones will have some sort of visible marking, such as the Archos logo, that will make the phone easily identifiable and distinguishable from other smartphone manufacturers.
