Background and Identification
The Asus Eee PC 1015PN is a small netbook computer released in 2010. It is part of Asus’s line of “Eee” computers, where the alliterative name stands for the three Es used as an advertising slogan: “Easy to learn, Easy to work, Easy to play.” The 1015PN specifically has a 10-inch screen with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels. The chassis is made from plastic (in either black, red, or white) and has a wedge shape where the back of the device is much thicker than the the front. Despite its size, the 1015PN still has a variety of ports including USB, HDMI, Ethernet, VGA, and audio jacks.
Internally, the laptop uses an Intel Atom processor and an Nvidia graphics card. The bottom side has a small cover that gives you easy access to the laptop’s single memory slot which can hold up to 2 GB. Further repair progress or upgrades require removing the keyboard and bottom cover as shown in this YouTube video. The process is somewhat more difficult than a comparable procedure on other laptops, but it is still doable.
To identify this laptop, look on the bottom for a sticker containing the model number “1015PN.” If you can’t find the model number, look instead for a serial number. You can enter this unique identifier on the Asus warranty webpage to find exact information about your device.
