Background and Identification
Asus phones are made by AsusTek, a Taiwan based electronics company. Their primary phones, the Asus ZenFone’s first iteration was announced in 2014 at CES as has since had many versions released. The ZenFone is an Android smartphone and uses Intel Atom, Qualcomm Snapdragon, and MediaTek processors. Prior to the ZenFone, they had released smartphones during the mid-2000’s such as the Asus V70. They operated on the Windows Mobile operating system which has since been discontinued.
The second generation, the Asus ZenFone 2, was released in 2015 along with the ZenFone Zoom. Each subsequent year up until 2019 a new generation of ZenFones was released . The newest generation of phones to be released are the ZenFone 6 and Zenfone ROG Phone II gaming series. It has a 6.4-inch screen, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC, and a 3.5mm jack.
The Asus PadFone was a smartphone released in 2012 that’s a hybrid device that can be docked in a tablet screen. There were some versions, including the PadFone X Mini that were released in the U.S.
The majority of the market that Asus sells to are India, China and other Asian countries.
