Background and Identification
The Canon A35F is a 35 mm film camera that was released in March 1978 for export only; there were none that were marketed to Japan. The camera was released into American and European markets. It is one of the last manual focusing rangefinders and shares much of its design with the Canon Canonet 28 and features an automatic flash that must be popped up with a switch next to the range finder. The next camera in this family is the Canon 35AF where the AF stands for automatic focusing. Although an initial price could not be determined, they are commonly sold for $20 - $50 U.S. dollars.
The Canon A35F has a black exterior as well as a pop-up flash as one of its notable features. It can also be identified by the front as it is marked A35F with the F being a much larger and different yellow font. The model number can be found on the back door of the camera next to the markings of where it was made. The main unique feature of this camera is its pop up flash that is hidden inside the camera.
