These are some common tools used to work on this device. You might not need every tool for every procedure.
Identification and Background
Released in July 2007, the M-Series laptop features a 15.4-inch LCD screen that come in three different colors: Crimson Red, Pacific Blue, and Slate Grey. The laptop comes equipped with Intel Centrino Mobile Technology and an Intel Core 2 Duo processor.
You can identify your specific device through Gateway's support website by typing in the device's serial number. The 13-character serial number is usually found on the bottom of the device. This may vary depending on the exact model and release date. Proper serial number identification can be found here.
Upgrades
The following are numerous methods of upgrading you laptop:
- Hard Drive: The standard model contains a 160 GB 5400 RPM SATA hard drive. This can easily be upgraded to up to 1 TB or even 2 TB. RPMs will vary but can be found at 7200 RPM.
- Battery: The battery can easily be replaced in just a matter of seconds. Just follow these simple steps.
- RAM: The standard model comes with 3 GB of RAM. In order to upgrade to 4 GB of RAM go here, order two 2GB 200-pin SODIMM, and install them in the two available memory slots on the underside of the computer
