Background & Identification

The JVC GR-D93U is a camcorder released in 2003 by the JVCKENWOOD USA Corporation, a video and audio manufacturer. The camera has a dual recording mode that allows users to use either the original cassette recording feature, or the updated memory card recording. The camcorder features a 1.33 megapixel camera for superior image quality. In the recording mode, the camera utilizes a 3-D noise reduction to eliminate up to 30% of interfering noise. The 2.5 inch LCD screen provides a playback option for the operator to view past recordings. Finally the light 1.1 pound weight of camera allows for easy transportation.

The camcorder can be identified by its blue accents that can be found around the lens and around the viewer. The device will also have "JVC" written on the the hand strap, the viewfinder, as well as the cap and the front of the device. To find the model number, look at the bottom of the device. It can also be identified by the cassette tape which can be opened by the eject button on the bottom of the device.
