Background and Identification
The Lenovo Chromebook line offers a range of Chromebook options. The first Lenovo Chromebook, the ThinkPad X131e, was released in January of 2013. Subsequent models, the N20 and N20p, were released in August of 2014. Since 2014, a range of additional Lenovo Chromebooks have been released. Lenovo’s Chromebook line is largely targeted towards educational purposes and aims to offer affordable devices, such as the Lenovo 10e Chromebook Tablet for $269 and the 100e Chromebook 2nd Gen for $214.
A range of other Chromebook lines exist, all offering various devices with different features and capabilities. All of these devices are still Chromebooks at their core—offering users a simple, cost-effective device that is optimized for web browsing and activity within the Chrome browser without added features. Essentially, Chromebooks are fantastic for editing a Google Sheet, but you shouldn’t count on them to run external software.
Lenovo Chromebooks are thin, neutral-colored rectangular laptops. They have the word “Chromebook” on the back of the device, and the Lenovo logo printed on the device somewhere as well.
