Background and Identification
The camera was announced on August 24th, 2011. It is a step up from the first generation of Sony mirrorless cameras (NEX-3 and NEX-5). With the NEX-7, Sony introduced a digital viewfinder, a built-in flash, an external mic jack, and a number of other improvements to software and hardware.
The camera is labeled on the top left when looking at the screen. Additionally, the built in flash and viewfinder distinguish this camera from previous models.
