Background and Identification

Withings is a French consumer electronics company known for its design and innovation in connected devices. Withings produced the first Wi-Fi scale on the market, a smart sleep system, an FDA-cleared blood pressure monitor, and a line of automatic activity tracking watches. Withings was purchased by Nokia, a Finnish company, in April 2016 and became Nokia Health.

The Withings Activité is a line of fitness tracker wristwatches sold by Withings. It was the first smartwatch to resemble a traditional wristwatch. According to a review of the Withings Activité by The Verge, the watch looks like a watch “in the most traditional sense,” but is made of machined sapphire, calf leather, and stainless steel.

The Withings Activité watch has no buttons and is controlled by a phone application that is compatible with both iPhones and Androids. The watch can track the user’s sleep, swimming, walking, and running. The watch also incorporates the user’s weight, heart rate, and body mass data from the Withings’ wireless scales, such as Withings’ Smart Body Analyzer. The Withings Activité line of watches includes the Withings Activité Pop, the Withings Activité Steel, and the Withings Activité Sapphire. The Steel model is made of stainless steel with a silicone strap and chrome hands.

The Withings Activité can be identified by the name “Withings Activité” is printed in the upper portion of the watch’s face with “Withings” in grey font and “Activité” in blue font.
