Background and Identification

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is an Android smartphone sold by Xiaomi, a Chinese multinational electronics company and released in August 2015. The Redmi Note 2 was sold in two variants, the standard and the Prime. The Redmi Note 2 can be identified by model number 2015051.

Both the Redmi Note 2 and the Note 2 Prime include a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1080 by 1920 pixels. The Redmi Note 2 includes an Octa-core 2.0 GHz CPU while the Redmi Note 2 Prime includes an Octa-core 2.2 GHz CPU. The Note 2 contains 16 GB of internal storage and 2 GB of RAM while the Note 2 Prime includes 32 GB of internal storage and 2 GB of RAM. Only the model sold in China includes a dedicated microSDXC slot for expandable internal storage.

All Redmi Note 2 models include a 13-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. They also include a 3060 mAh removable battery, meaning the battery is not attached to the inside of the phone using any kind of permanent adhesive, making repair and replacement easier than for non-removable batteries. They also include a MicroUSB 2.0 slot and a USB On-The-Go slot.

The Redmi Note 2 was released in white, blue, yellow, pink, and mint green body colors.
