Introduction

Are you wondering why your Nespresso coffee is tasting off and doesn’t have that sufficient taste? Use this guide to learn how to descale your Nespresso VertuoPlus machine in an easy few steps.

Descaling your coffee machine is ultimately cleaning and stripping any excess dirt that has built up on the machine’s surface which could potentially cause your coffee machine to stop functioning properly and result in bad-tasting coffee.

Before using this guide, make sure you have the Nespresso descaling kit. Any other type of cleaning solution used in the machine could potentially break the machine.

Step 1

Turn the machine on by pressing the button with a coffee mug logo.

Step 2

Lift the lever upwards to remove any used capsules from the machine.
Empty the capsule container that is located at the back of the machine.

Step 3

Turn the machine off by pushing the same lever down.

Step 4

Fill the water tank with one unit of the Nespresso descaling liquid and add three cups of water to the solution.

Il est préférable de donner un volume en ml ou l et non en "tasse" qui est une unité tout à fait subjective : il existe de toutes petites et de grandes tasses. Laquelle utiliser ?

To access the descaling mode on the machine, push both the button and lever down for three seconds.
You will see an orange light, indicating that you have reached the "Special Functions" menu.

Step 6

To access the descaling mode, press the lever down one time.

Step 7

To start descaling, push the button.
An orange light will start to blink indicating the descaling function.
The machine will stop automatically when completed.

H'ai un problème a ce stade. En effet, après avoir clignote en lumière orange, le voyant devient rouge. La fonction détartrage n'est pas enclenchée. Que faire ? Merci

Rinse and clean the tank thoroughly.

Step 9

Fill the water tank with fresh water and place it back into the machine.

Step 10

Push the button to rinse the machine.
The machine will stop automatically when completed.

Step 11

To exit descaling mode, press both the button and lever at the same time for three seconds.

Step 12

A green light will show, indicating the descaling has been completed successfully.

La spia che indica la decalcificazione da fare è ancora presente. Metà rossa e metà verde

My machine did not switch to descaling mode after several tries. I ran it manually.

When I hit the button to begin the descaling process, the orange light flashes for a few seconds then I get a red ring and the machine stops

I usually require six envelopes to descale (six times). We have very hard water where we live. Keep repeating process. Once machine has descaled enough, it will go back to green. Persistence wins.

Devi fare la decalcificazione ti da ancora la possibilità di usarla ma per un breve periodo
