Introduction

Use this guide to force restart your iPhone 5s when it is frozen and not responding. Force restarts are very simple and require no tools.

    • Press and hold the Home button.

    • While holding the Home button, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button.

    How to force restart it when my home button is broken?

    My iPhone 5s is showing the “press home to upgrade” and my home button is broken.

    It appears after my phone battery was empty and when I charged it the “press home to upgrade” is showing.

Sounds like you'll have to replace the home button just so that you can boo the iPhone into recovery mode.

My phone won't turn on and I did just like the instruction said and even tried hard resetting it but nothing happened. I don't know what to do now. I even opened the iPhone 5s over 3 times to check if something went wrong bang it's all good and connected but for some reason it won't turn on even after hard reset. Someone help me please.

If the speaker works fine when play music, I think your issue is caused the logic board or your carrier.

If your iPhone is SIM free, you can activate with India SIM.

If your iPhone is not SIM free, you can use iPhone via Wi-Fi without activate when SIM is removed.

Best instructions I’ve ever seen. Easy to follow and includes info on what to check if there’s a problem. Unfortunately I still have the white lines and touch screen doesn’t work. I must have damaged something. Won’t be buying another apple. They refused to look at it because I changed the battery myself.

Now that I have read guide no way I am doing this myself. My 5s needs charging constantly. If Appleis doing this they should replace all batteries free. Any suggestions to make battery run for a longer time or must I get someone to install new one?

You may have to replace the charge port. The same thing happened to mine last year. I thought the batter was bad and I replaced it. After I got it home, could not get it to charge. The problem was the charge port was loose and needed replaced. Had it done at a cell phone repair shop for $35.00 and have not had any issues since.
