Albe

Die Albe (von lateinisch alba (tunica) ‚die weiße (Tunika)‘) ist ein aus der antiken Tunika hervorgegangenes, knöchellanges Gewand aus weißem oder heute auch naturfarbenem Leinen. Mit Bezug auf die Alte Kirche und ihre Tradition symbolisiert die Albe das Taufgewand.
