Allophon

Als Allophon (aus altgriechisch ἄλλος állos, deutsch ‚anders‘ and φωνή phōnḗ, deutsch ‚Stimme‘, also ‚anderer Klang‘) bezeichnet man in der Linguistik eine lautliche Variante eines Phonems. Allophone werden auch als Phonemvarianten oder subphoneme Varianten bezeichnet.
