Bihar (Hindi: बिहार, Urdu: بہار Bihār []) ist ein indischer Bundesstaat mit einer Fläche von 94.163 km² und rund 104 Millionen Einwohnern (Volkszählung 2011). Seine Hauptstadt ist Patna, das antike Pataliputra. Bihar gilt als ärmster und sozioökonomisch am geringsten entwickelter Bundesstaat Indiens.
