Bloemfontein [] ist die sechstgrößte Stadt in der Republik Südafrika und Hauptstadt der Provinz Freistaat. Außerdem ist sie Sitz des obersten Berufungsgerichts (englisch Supreme Court of Appeal, afrikaans Appèlhof). Sie hat 256.185 Einwohner (Stand Volkszählung 2011) und ist Sitz der Metropolgemeinde Mangaung.
