Clause [] ist die Wortgruppe im Satz, die aus einem finiten Verb (Personalform eines Verbs) und den von ihm abhängigen Wörtern besteht. Der Begriff wird in der Quantitativen Linguistik oft als leicht bestimmbare, annähernde Entsprechung zu und damit auch anstelle von Teilsatz verwendet.
