Zymbal

Das Zymbal (auch Zimbal), Cimbalom oder Cymbalom (Konzertzymbal, Pedalzymbal) ist ein hauptsächlich im Pannonischen Raum verbreitetes, mit Klöppeln geschlagenes Hackbrett. Nach der Form wird das Saiteninstrument zu den Kastenzithern gezählt. Das moderne Zymbal steht frei auf Füßen und hat meist ein Dämpfungspedal.
