Eine Deflagration (von lateinisch deflagrare = abbrennen) ist ein relativ schneller Verbrennungsvorgang, der umgangssprachlich auch Verpuffung genannt wird. Die Detonationsgeschwindigkeit von Explosionen ist jedoch deutlich höher.
