Yams
Yams (Dioscorea), auch Yam oder Yamswurzel genannt, sind eine Pflanzengattung innerhalb der Familie der Yamswurzelgewächse (Dioscoreaceae). Die bis zu 800 Arten sind hauptsächlich in den Tropen verbreitet. Einige Arten sind wichtige tropische Nahrungs- und Heilpflanzen.
