Ernst Herzfeld

Ernst Emil Herzfeld (* 23. Juli 1879 in Celle; † 21. Januar 1948 in Basel) war ein deutscher Vorderasiatischer Archäologe, Altorientalist und Epigraphiker. Er war Mitbegründer der Vorderasiatischen und Islamischen Archäologie, Architektur- und Kunstgeschichte und Begründer der Iranischen Archäologie.
