Das in Griechenland angewandte Wahlsystem war ein parteipolitisches Verhältniswahlrecht mit einer Hürde von 3 % für eine Partei. Die Zahl der Griechenland zugewiesenen Sitze betrug 25.

Die oppositionelle konservative Partei Nea Dimokratia (ND) gewann ebenso wie die Kommunistische Partei Griechenlands (KKE) Stimmanteile hinzu, während die regierende Panellinio Sosialistiko Kinima (PASOK) an Boden verlor. Zwei Parteien der Linken, die relativ neue Dimokratiko Kinoniko Kinima (DIKKI) und die Synaspismos (SYN), erlangten jeweils zwei Sitze im Parlament. Der Politiki Anixi (POLAN), der Abgeordnete ins 1994 Europaabgeordnete schicken konnte, scheiterte diesmal an der 3-%-Hürde.
