Fronhof

Als Fronhof (auch Herrenhof) wird ein Gutshof (lat. curtis) bezeichnet, der im Zentrum einer mittelalterlichen Villikation stand. Er war das wirtschaftliche und herrschaftliche Zentrum eines Hofverbandes und stützte sich sowohl auf Eigenwirtschaft als auch auf die Frondienste von Leibeigenen.
