Gabbro

Gabbro ist ein kompaktes, grobkörniges magmatisches Gestein plutonischen Ursprungs. Er ist das plutonitische Pendant des Basalts, d. h., er kristallisierte tief in der Erdkruste aus einem Magma, das nach Austritt aus einem Vulkan an der Erdoberfläche zu Basalt erstarrt wäre.
