George Bancroft (Politiker)

George Bancroft (* 3. Oktober 1800 in Worcester, Massachusetts; † 17. Januar 1891 in Washington D.C.) war ein amerikanischer Historiker und Politiker. Als eines seiner bekanntesten Werke gilt die zwölfbändige History of the United States, from the Discovery of the American Continent.
