Hampton University
Hampton University (auch: HU, Home by the Sea) ist eine private historically black University in Hampton (Virginia), Vereinigte Staaten. Sie wurde 1868 von Schwarzen und Weißen, Leitern der American Missionary Association (AMA), gegründet, als sie nach dem Amerikanischen Bürgerkrieg die Ausbildung von Freedmen (freigelassenen Sklaven) fördern wollten. Ab 1878 wurde auch ein Programm für Indianer angeboten, welches bis 1923 lief.
