Hartwährung (auch harte oder starke Währung; englisch hard currency) ist eine Währung, die vollständig konvertierbar ist, als besonders stabil gilt und jederzeit am Devisenmarkt auf eine große Marktbreite trifft. Gegensatz ist die Weichwährung.
