International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions

Die International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) ist die internationale Vereinigung bibliothekarischer Verbände und Einrichtungen (so auch die offizielle deutsche Bezeichnung). Gegründet wurde die IFLA 1927 in Edinburgh (Schottland). Ihre ersten Präsidenten waren Isak Collijn (1927–1931) und William Warner Bishop (1931–1936). Im Jahr 2022 hatte die IFLA 1660 Mitglieder aus mehr als 140 Ländern, die etwa 500.000 Bibliotheken repräsentieren.
