JavaScript Object Notation
Die JavaScript Object Notation (JSON []) ist ein kompaktes Datenformat in einer einfach lesbaren Textform für den Datenaustausch zwischen Anwendungen. JSON ist von Programmiersprachen unabhängig. Parser und Generatoren existieren in allen verbreiteten Sprachen.

JSON wurde ursprünglich 1997 von Douglas Crockford spezifiziert. Derzeit (Stand Ende 2017) wird es durch zwei inhaltlich gleiche Standards spezifiziert – RFC 8259 sowie ECMA-404.
