John Augustus Roebling

John Augustus Roebling (ursprünglich Johann August Röbling; * 12. Juni 1806 in Mühlhausen in Thüringen; † 22. Juli 1869 in New York City) war ein deutsch-amerikanischer Ingenieur und Brückenbauer. Weltbekannt wurde er als Konstrukteur der Brooklyn Bridge in New York. Am 30. September 1837 erhielt er die Einbürgerungsurkunde der USA und nannte sich von da an John A. Roebling.
